004 <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, Sloan, and Smith <br />Nay: None <br />The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />County Manager John Crumpton gave an update on the Colon Road -Osgood Community water testing <br />project. As of February 1, 2016, 323 letters have been mailed to property owners within Y2 mile of the proposed <br />coal ash storage site. 72 letter recipients have responded, with 38 samples having been to • 21 private wells <br />and 17 surface water samples. 15 residents have received letters indicating elevated le v of vanadium and/or <br />hexavalent chromium. In order to gather more data, testing period was extended to end of February. Mr. <br />Crumpton, along with Interim Health Director Heath Cain and Assistant to the Co ger Terrell Jones, <br />discussed possible grant funding to provide water to those affected while th tate r the maximum <br />contaminant level (MCL) for hexavalent chromium. The State is expected to provide an ted MCL for <br />hexavalent chromium in the next three weeks.%/////i��'ll, J , <br />Commissioner Smith stated the Young Commissioners class s gearing up for meetings and would <br />like to know the July meeting date for the Board of Commission Normally the Board only meets once <br />during the months of July, August and September. Consensus Boar as to hold the July meeting on <br />Monday, July 18th at 5 p.m. '0%iii, // <br />��� i,,. <br />Commissioner Frazier moved to go into Closed Session to instr ff concerning the negotiation of <br />the price and terms of a contract concerning the acquisition of real prope ated at 1503 Elm Street per <br />North Carolina General Statute 143-318.11(a)(5).
