Lee County seeking new Planning Board member FROM LEE COUNTY GOVERNMENT SANFORD — The Lee County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications from interested citizens for a vacancy on the Lee County Planning Board, which studies and recommends plans, policies and ordinances related to the growth and development of Lee County. The board also makes recommenda- tions concerning pro- posed conditional -use permits and proposed land use -ordinance and zoning map amend- ments and meets, if required, at 6 p.m. on the third Monday of each month, The individual select- ed elected also will serve as a member on the Lee County Board of Adjust- ment. djustment. The purpose of that board is (1) to hear and decide appeals from the decisions of the Department of Community Develop- ment in which an error is alleged in an order, requirement, decision or determination made by Department of Com- munity Development in the enforcement of a zoning ordinance; (2) hear and decide appeals for variances from the terms of the zoning ordinance; (3) interpret official zoning map and pass upon disputed questions of lot lines or district boundary lines, and (4) exercise such other powers as may be granted by the Uni- fied Development Ordi- nance. The Board of Adjustment only meets on an as -needed basis.
