0 37 <br />This position is a security officer and supervises the other Security Officers and the DSS IT <br />staff. Security Officers' are responsible for determining who is allowed access into certain state <br />and federal programs. They must maintain all workers accesses to these program. It is <br />imperative that a worker is only given the access that is required in their current position. As <br />part of Supervising the IT staff this position is responsible for participating in the planning, <br />development, and implementation of new programs to meet the fiscal needs of the Department. <br />This position is responsible for overseeing the purchase of all new hardware & software <br />equipment and works closely with the County IT Department to assure that automation needs are <br />adequate to provide for the future technological needs of the Department. Makes sure that all IT <br />work orders are completed timely. <br />Other Responsibilities: 10% <br />In addition to the above listed duties, this position is responsible for the supervision of unit staff <br />regarding the planning, directing, monitoring, and evaluation of all functions performed within <br />the department. <br />Contract Management: Agency contracts, which total about sixteen (26), are handled by <br />another employee. But this worker makes assurance that sufficient funds are available and <br />budgeted for to cover the costs of these contracts and MOA's. <br />Contract Negotiation: Conducts feasibility studies, comparison studies, and needs assessments <br />for departmental equipment/technology needs. This position is responsible for negotiating <br />contracts for services and equipment purchases/leases, etc. <br />FRR/BEER/ Purging Security: Monitors staff responsible for the security for the Financial <br />Resource Matches and Bendex Exchange Registers received by the Department. Responsible for <br />ensuring that only authorized staff obtain access to this information. Also responsible for <br />ensuring that data is disposed of properly and in the manner authorized by federal and state law. <br />Monitors staff responsible for the security of purged files disposal. <br />Other: As requested, represent the Agency Director at both the local and state level in matters <br />pertaining to fiscal, budgetary, personnel or administrative matters. <br />This worker serves as a member of the Management Team and attends meetings to help ensure <br />the proper management of the agency. In addition to this employee, the Management Team <br />consists of the DSS Director, Three Supervisors of Children's Services, Supervisor of Work <br />First/Day Care/Fraud, Supervisor of Adult Services, Supervisor of Child Support, Supervisor of <br />Medicaid and the Supervisor of Food Stamps. <br />This individual is responsible for conducting job interviews for the Administrative Section and <br />submitting new hire recommendations to the Director, providing training for new and existing <br />staff, establish and maintain work standards and procedures for the unit, provide ongoing <br />guidance and direction to employees to help them determine and meet the needs of the <br />department, conduct performance appraisals, review performance with agency director and make <br />recommendations regarding disciplinary action, etc. <br />This individual must establish and maintain a good working relationship within and outside the <br />0 <br />
