015 <br />M. Dalrymple, Dr. Ricky D. Frazier, Dr. Andre Knecht, Larry "Doc" Oldham, Robert T. Reives, Timothy <br />S. Sloan, and Kirk D. Smith. Staff in attendance included County Manager John Crumpton, Assistant <br />County Manager/Finance Director Lisa Minter, County Attorney Kerry Self, Clerk to the Board Gaynell <br />Lee, and Deputy Clerk Danielle Mahoney. <br />Chair Dalrymple called the meeting to order on behalf of the Board of Commissioners. <br />Dr. Lynn Smith called the meeting to order on behalf of the Board of Education. <br />School Superintendent Dr. Andy Bryan gave a brief overview of the proposed new magnet <br />elementary school (Pre K-5) proposed at the current W. B. Wicker Business Center on South Vance <br />Street. Architect Jimmy Hite from Hite Associates presented drawings of the current and proposed new <br />site. The school is proposed to house 900 students along with a new classroom addition, renovated <br />auditorium, new cafeteria and updated gym. Dr. Bryan stated the project would take approximately one <br />year for construction and 6-8 months for the planning stage. The school, if approved, will be open for <br />the 2018 school year. <br />After discussion, Commissioner Reives instructed the County Manager to work with the Boards <br />involved in the project (Board of Education, Central Carolina Community College, and Brick Capital) to <br />get the project started and work on a financial plan. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, Sloan, and Smith <br />Nay: None <br />The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />With no other business to come before the Board, Commissioner Oldham moved to adjourn the <br />Lee County Board of Commissioners meeting. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, Sloan, and Smith <br />Nay: None <br />The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 7:38 <br />p.m. <br />ATTEST: <br />Gaynell M.
