Pi <br />C] <br />LEE COUNTY <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Notice is hereby giv- <br />en that the Lee Coun- <br />ty Board of Commis- <br />sioners and Planning <br />Board will hold joint <br />public hearings on <br />Monday, February 15, <br />2010 in the Commis- <br />sioners' Board Room <br />at the Lee County <br />Government Center, <br />106 Hillcrest Drive, <br />Sanford, NC. The <br />Boards will consider <br />two (2) applications <br />to amend the Official <br />Zoning Map of Lee <br />County, NC. The <br />hearings will begin at <br />6:00 p.m. or as soon <br />thereafter as deemed <br />practical by the <br />Board. <br />Upon conclusion of <br />the joint public hear- <br />ing, the Lee County <br />Board of Adjustment <br />will hold a separate <br />public hearing in the <br />Gordon Wicker Con- <br />ference Room of the <br />Lee County Govern- <br />ment Center to con- <br />sider an application <br />for a Variance. The <br />applications are de- <br />scribed below: <br />Applications to <br />Amend the Official <br />Zoning Map of Lee <br />County <br />1. pplication by <br />W tone Corpora- <br />tion to rezone a total <br />of 35.78± acres of <br />land <br />located north of Deep <br />River Road, being <br />south and east of <br />Wake Stone's office <br />and quarry operation <br />located at 9725 Stone <br />Quarry Road. Specif- <br />ically, the request is <br />to rezone approxi- <br />mately 21.78-acres of <br />land from Residential <br />Agricultural (RA) dis- <br />trict and approxi- <br />mately 14-acres of <br />land from Heavy In- <br />Use (HI-CU) district <br />(approved for a spe- <br />cialty processing and <br />sizing operation) to <br />Heavy Industrial <br />Conditional Use (HI- <br />CU) district for min- <br />ing and quarry opera- <br />tions. More specifi- <br />cally, the 35.78± acres <br />of land will be added <br />to the existing quarry <br />operations and will <br />include a future pit <br />area, stone crushing <br />and processing, relo- <br />cation of the office & <br />scales facility, a new <br />driveway <br />entrance/exit, and a <br />protective berm con- <br />struction. The prop- <br />erty is the same as de- <br />picted on Tax Maps <br />9677, 9677.02, 9678, <br />and 9668.04, Tax Par- <br />cels 9667-88-5704, 9667- <br />98-1178,9677-09-0108 <br />and a portion of 9668- <br />90-3134, Lee County <br />Land Records Office. <br />2. Application by <br />Solid Rock Communi- <br />ty Church to rezone <br />3.94-acres of land lo- <br />cated at 989 White <br />Hill Road from Resi- <br />dential Agricultural <br />(RA) district to Office <br />& Institutional (0&I) <br />district. The proper- <br />ty is the same as de- <br />picted on Tax Map <br />9529.02, Tax Parcel <br />9529-78-8667, Lee <br />County Land Re- <br />cords, and is all of <br />that property shown <br />on a survey map re- <br />corded in Plat Cabi- <br />net 2009, Slide 29, Lee <br />County Registry of <br />Deeds. <br />Application for a Var- <br />iance <br />3. Application by <br />Solid Rock Communi- <br />ty Church for a Var- <br />iance to reduce the to- <br />tal amount of land- <br />scape plantings re- <br />quired within a buf- <br />fer yard between an <br />institutional use and <br />residential properties <br />as stated in the Uni- <br />fied Development Or- <br />dinance, Article 7 <br />Landscaping and Buf- <br />fering Standards, Ta- <br />ble 7-3, Table 7-4 and <br />Section 7.5.4.2.2. The <br />subject property is lo- <br />cated at 989 White <br />Hill Road, Sanford, <br />NC and is the site of <br />Solid Rock Communi- <br />ty Church which is <br />currently under con- <br />struction.
