Bridwell, A]CP <br />Director <br />The Zoning Ordinance of Lee County, North Carolina requires that adjacent property owners be notified when <br />a request for a change in zoning classification (rezoning) has been scheduled for public hearing before the Lee <br />County Board of Commissioners' and Planning Board. <br />This notice is hereby given that the Lee County Board of Commissioners and Planning Board will hold a joint <br />public hearing on Monday, February 15, 2010 in the Commissioners' Board Room at the Lee County <br />Govemment Center, 106 ITllcrest Drive, Sanford, NC. The Boards will consider two (2) applications to <br />amend the Official Zoning Map of Lee County, NC- The hearings will begin at 6:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter <br />as deemed practical by the Board. The applications are described below: <br />1. Application by Wake Stone Corporation to rezone a total of 35.78± acres of land located north <br />of Deep River Road, being south and east of Wake Stone's office and quarry operation located at <br />9725 Stone Quarry Road. Specifically, the request is to rezone approximately21.78-acres of land <br />from Residential Agricultural (RA) district and approximately 14-acres of land from Heavy <br />• Industrial Conditional Use "-CU) district (approved for a specialty processing and sizing <br />operation) to Heavy Industrial Conditional Use (HI-C[1) district for mining and quarry <br />operations. More specifically, the 35.78± acres of land will be added to the existing quarry <br />operations and will include a future pit area, stone crushing and processing, relocation of the <br />office & scales facility, a new driveway entrance/exit, and a protective berm construction. The <br />property is the same as depicted on Tax Maps 9677, 9677.02, 9678, and 9668.04, Tax Parcels <br />9667-88-5704, 9667-98-1178, 9677-09-0108 and a portion of 9668-90-3134, Lee County Land <br />Records Office. <br />2. Application by Solid Rock Community Church to rezone 3.94-acres of land located at 989 White <br />Hill Road from Residential Agricultural (RA) district to Office & Institutional (O&I) district. <br />The property is the same as depicted on Tax Map 9529.02, Tax Parcel 9529-78-8667, Lee <br />County Land Records, and is all of that property shown on a survey map recorded in Plat <br />Cabinet 2009, Slide 29, Lee County Registry of Deeds. <br />The public is cordially invited to attend. Further information may be obtained from the Sanford/Lee County <br />Community Development Department, 900 Woodland Avenue, Sanford, NC 27330 or by calling (919) 718- <br />4656.
