B. <br />Information <br />Meeting Date: November 16, 2015 XX Action Item <br />Consent Agenda <br />SUBJECT: Proclamation for Farm -City Week <br />DEPARTMENT: North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Lee County Center <br />CONTACT PERSON: Bill Stone, 4-H Extension Agent <br />REQUEST: Elissa Neal, Lee County 4-H member will appear before the <br />Board to make a presentation on agriculture and to present <br />2015 Farm -City Week Activities. <br />SUMMARY: As our society becomes more urban, fewer Americans ever <br />see the connection between the foods they eat, the clothing <br />they wear and the farms where food and fiber products are <br />grown. Every day we benefit from the American farmer. Their <br />harvest provides food and fiber for this nation and for other <br />countries around the world. In recognition of the importance of <br />agriculture, we are requesting the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners, Broadway Town Council and the Sanford City <br />Council proclaim November 19-26, 2005 as Farm -City Week <br />and invite elected officials to participate in the many activities <br />highlighting Lee County Agriculture.
