BK -00027 PG -.0885 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />JOINT MEETING OF THE <br />INTERLOCAL SUB -COMMITTEE <br />FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, CITY OF SANFORD <br />AND <br />TOWN OF BROADWAY <br />SEPTEMBER 28, 2015 <br />The Joint Interlocal Sub -Committee appointed to study Interlocal Agreements and other items of <br />interest between the County of Lee, City of Sanford, and Town of Broadway, met at 11:30 a.m. in the <br />Gordon Wicker Conference Room, First Floor, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, <br />Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. Commissioner appointed members present were Amy M. <br />Dalrymple, Dr. Ricky D. Frazier, and Timothy S. Sloan. County staff in attendance included County <br />Manager John Crumpton, County Attorney Kerry Self, GIS Director Don Kovasckitz, IT Director Kyle <br />Edwards, and Clerk to the Board Gaynell Lee. <br />Chair Dalrymple called the Joint Sub -Committee meeting to order and the following items were <br />discussed: <br />Bug-gy Factory Update — Target date for completion is December 15, 2015. Working with staff <br />on furniture and miscellaneous items. <br />Hales Center Update — Architect continues on design of building. Hope to bid the project within <br />the next 20-30 days. Project will take 90-120 days to complete once bid is accepted. Will talk with the <br />Juvenile Crime Prevention Council about the court system refering youth to the Center. <br />Airport T -Hangars Update — Meeting scheduled with the Local Government Commission (LGC) <br />on October 6th for $650,000 loan from the City and County. Taxi -way improvements were removed and <br />are not included in the project at this time. <br />San -Lee Park Update — Met with architect on site location. New building will be located in a <br />slightly different location than originally planned. Will take approximately 90-120 days for plans to be <br />completed. Will now have two (2) entrances into the Park (when project is completed) to separate <br />traffic flow. <br />Brick Capital CDC — City agreed to purchase Makepeace Building from Brick Capital but after <br />inspection of building it was decided several repairs were needed. City is still trying to decide what will <br />happen with the building. Incorrect information was provided at the last City Council meeting on Brick <br />Capital finances and other items. More accurate information has been provided and is being <br />distributed. City and Brick Capital is working on a new agreement. <br />
