LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION <br />HONORING SALVATION ARMY DAY <br />WHEREAS, the Salvation Army is known throughout the world for its humanitarian and <br />spiritual efforts; and, <br />WHEREAS, this year marks the 20th anniversary of the Salvation Army of Lee County; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Salvation Army distributes hundreds of toys and coats and provides food <br />during the holidays for needy families; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Salvation Army's annual Red Kettle Campaign is a time-honored holiday <br />tradition to provide a way for our community to be part of their mission; and, <br />WHEREAS, for twenty years, the Salvation Army has offered much needed assistance to <br />many during everyday difficulties, family emergencies and natural disasters; working daily to <br />feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, clothe the needy and give hope to the hopeless, the <br />County chapter of the Salvation Army has touched thousands of lives in our community in a <br />very loving and positive way; and, <br />WHEREAS, by providing these services and offering care and compassion for everyone who <br />enters its door, the Salvation Army has become a vital and well respected part of our Lee <br />County community and we are grateful for their efforts and dedication. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, WE THE LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS do hereby <br />congratulate the Lee County chapter of the Salvation Army on its 20th anniversary and <br />proclaim Tuesday, September 29, 2015 as Salvation Army Day. <br />Adopted this 21St day of September 2015. <br />ATTEST: <br />CAa .II M.
