LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE <br />INTERSECTION OF WILDWOOD DRIVE AND PALMETTO PATH <br />WHEREAS, the County of Lee owns certain vacant property located at the intersection of <br />Wildwood Drive and Palmetto Path, PIN number 9634-13-1109-00, in Lee County, North <br />Carolina, as shown on a deed recorded in Deed Book 534, Page 196, in the office of the Register <br />of Deeds for Lee County, to which the record thereof reference is hereby made for more <br />complete description; and, <br />WHEREAS, the taxable value of the property is $8,800.00; and, <br />WHEREAS, the above -referenced property was conveyed to the County along with <br />property located along Wildwood Drive, PIN number 9634-12-1809-00, for $2,000.00; and, <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes §§ 153A-176 and 160A-269 permit the <br />County to sell property by upset bid, after receipt of an offer to purchase the property; and, <br />WHEREAS, the County of Lee proposed to dispose of the above described property as it <br />is surplus to the County's needs; and, <br />WHEREAS, the County received an offer submitted by Joseph Benjamin Lucas and <br />Martha Franklin Lucas to purchase the property described above in the amount of $2,000.00 and <br />paid the requisite deposit and advertising costs; and, <br />WHEREAS, at its regular meeting on August 17, 2015, the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners accepted the offer of $2,000.00 and such offer was advertised in The Sanford <br />Herald on August 21, 2015; and, <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Albert Adcock made an upset bid offer of $3,000.00 during the 10 -day <br />upset bid period and paid the requisite deposit and advertising costs; and, <br />WHEREAS, such offer was advertised in The Sanford Herald on September 4, 2015; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, no further upset bids were received during the 10 -day upset bid period, and <br />the upset bid offer from Mr. Albert Adcock is the final and highest bid received. <br />
