LEE COUNTY Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF WILDWOOD DRIVE AND PALMETTO PATH WHEREAS, the County of Lee owns certain vacant property located at the intersection of Wildwood Drive and Palmetto Path, PIN number 9634-13-1109-00, in Lee County, North Carolina, as shown on a deed recorded in Deed Book 534, Page 196, in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County, to which the record thereof reference is hereby made for more complete description; and, WHEREAS, the taxable value of the property is $8,800.00; and, WHEREAS, the above -referenced property was conveyed to the County along with property located along Wildwood Drive, PIN number 9634-12-1809-00, for $2,000.00; and, WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes §§ 153A-176 and 160A-269 permit the County to sell property by upset bid, after receipt of an offer to purchase the property; and, WHEREAS, the County of Lee proposed to dispose of the above described property as it is surplus to the County's needs; and, WHEREAS, the County received an offer submitted by Joseph Benjamin Lucas and Martha Franklin Lucas to purchase the property described above in the amount of $2,000.00 and paid the requisite deposit and advertising costs; and, WHEREAS, at its regular meeting on August 17, 2015, the Lee County Board of Commissioners accepted the offer of $2,000.00 and such offer was advertised in The Sanford Herald on August 21, 2015; and, WHEREAS, Mr. Albert Adcock made an upset bid offer of $3,000.00 during the 10 -day upset bid period and paid the requisite deposit and advertising costs; and, WHEREAS, such offer was advertised in The Sanford Herald on September 4, 2015; and, WHEREAS, no further upset bids were received during the 10 -day upset bid period, and the upset bid offer from Mr. Albert Adcock is the final and highest bid received.
