Cooper <br />seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote the Commissioners voted as <br />follows: <br />AYE: Cooper, Gordon A. Wicker and Franklin D. Wicker <br />NO: White and Rogers <br />The Chairman declared the motion adopted by a majority vote and <br />instructed the Tax Supervisor to prepare guidelines in accordance with the <br />instructions contained in the resolution. <br />Commissioner William H. Cooper moved the adoption of the following <br />resolution with respect to the Godfrey Road which is a proposed road located <br />between Secondary Road 1177 and Secondary Road 1166: <br />WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed <br />with the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, <br />requesting that the above described road, the location of which <br />has been indicatedin red on the attached map, be added to the <br />system of County Roads now maintained by the State Highway <br />Commission; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners, <br />after careful investigation, deems the proposed addition of said <br />road to the County Road System and its maintenance by the State <br />Highway Commission necessary to adequately serve the citizens <br />of said County. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, The State Highway Commission <br />is requested to take over said road for maintenance and the <br />addition of said road and revisions in location deemed necessary by <br />theState Highway Commission are hereby approved. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Chairman stated to the Board that he had received three notices from <br />the Handy Pantry advising the Commissioners that they were makeing application <br />for ABC permits. This matter was referred to the Sheriff for any comment he <br />desired to make to the ABC Board. <br />A statement from the Triangle Law Enforcement Region Commission <br />had been received in the amount of $175. 00 and was considered by the Board. <br />After discussion, payment of the bill was authorized to be made from the approp- <br />riation made for the operation of the Sheriff's Office. <br />Commissioner J. Eugene Rogers moved the adoption of the following <br />resolution with respect to the Honorable J. B. Cameron, deceased, a former <br />member of the Lee County School Board: <br />WHEREAS, the Honorable J. B. Cameron died on <br />the 30th day of January, 1971; and <br />WHEREAS, J. B. Cameron rendered loyal, faithful, <br />dedicated and devoted service to the people of Lee County, as a <br />member of the Lee County School Board, from April of 1953, until <br />his death. <br />
