Commissioner Cooper reported that the Godfrey Road had been <br />added to the State System for maintenance according to correspondence received <br />from the State Highway Commission. <br />Mr. Roy Mashburn appeared on behalf of the Lee County Oil <br />Jobbers Association and presenoted a proposed ordinance regulating the <br />operation of the self-service gas stations. The matter was reviewed and the <br />Commissioners RESOLVED that there was a need for such legislation and <br />instructed the County Attorney to draft an Ordinance for their consideration <br />and adoption atthe next meeting of the Board. <br />Commissioner Cooper reported to the Board on complaints he had <br />received about electrical inspections and the matter was discussed generally. <br />The Chairman reported that the Handi-Pantry stores had made <br />application for an ABC permit and the matter would be referred to the Sheriff's <br />Department for comment if any were needed. <br />Commissioner White asked authority to make repairs to the <br />Courthouse Annex. Commissioner White moved that the Board authorize <br />such repairs and the motion was seconded by Commissioner J. Eugene Rogers. <br />There was an extensive discussion and the Resolution was adopted <br />by a majority vote on Roll Call as follows: <br />AYE: White, Rogers and F. Wicker <br />NO: Cooper and G. Wicker <br />Mr. Hugh Brewer reported on the necessary air-conditioning <br />work in order to suitably cool the District Courtroom. He was directed to <br />get the job specifications in order for a public bid taking. <br />It was brought to the Board's attention that Mr. Douglas <br />Johnson and Mr. Julian Causey were re-appointed to the Lee County Youth <br />Development Commission for a two year term in November of 1970, whereas, <br />the normal term .for such commission members is for three years. Upon <br />motion of Commissioner G. Wicker, duly seconded and unanimously adopted, <br />it was RESOLVED to amend the appointment of Mr. Douglas Johnson and Mr. <br />Julian Causey to the Youth Development Commission-to a term of three years. <br />There being no further business to come before the session, it <br />was adjourned. <br />FRANKLIN D.
