0`' <br />BOOK 7 PACE 530 <br />The Chairman reported that the District Meeting for the <br />Association of County Commissioners would be held in the Cumberland <br />County Office Building on April 13, 1971, and urged all members to <br />attend. <br />The written request of Mr. H. W. Winstead for a refund of <br />$18.27, for overpayment of taxes because of incorrect listing of acreage <br />was presented to the Board and considered. After' consideration and review, <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the written request for refund <br />of H. W. Winstead for $18.27, for overpayment of taxes during the years <br />1963 through 1970, be approved for payment and that the Tax Collector be authorized <br />to make refund in that amount. The motion was duly seconded and upon a roll call <br />vote was unanimously adopted. Messrs. Rogers, White, G. Wicker and F. Wicker <br />all voted for the motion and no one voted against it. <br />The Chairman of the Board of Social Services and the Director <br />of the Board of Social Services appeared before the Board and reviewed the <br />Budget estimates for the coming year. Each and every item was considered <br />and reviewed at length and the Board was of the opinion that the best solution <br />would be for the State to take over the financial responsibility for the operation <br />of the Social Services Program. Accordingly, the Director was instructed in <br />the manner as to how the Board wanted the estimates to be completed.
