0`' BOOK 7 PACE 530 The Chairman reported that the District Meeting for the Association of County Commissioners would be held in the Cumberland County Office Building on April 13, 1971, and urged all members to attend. The written request of Mr. H. W. Winstead for a refund of $18.27, for overpayment of taxes because of incorrect listing of acreage was presented to the Board and considered. After' consideration and review, Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the written request for refund of H. W. Winstead for $18.27, for overpayment of taxes during the years 1963 through 1970, be approved for payment and that the Tax Collector be authorized to make refund in that amount. The motion was duly seconded and upon a roll call vote was unanimously adopted. Messrs. Rogers, White, G. Wicker and F. Wicker all voted for the motion and no one voted against it. The Chairman of the Board of Social Services and the Director of the Board of Social Services appeared before the Board and reviewed the Budget estimates for the coming year. Each and every item was considered and reviewed at length and the Board was of the opinion that the best solution would be for the State to take over the financial responsibility for the operation of the Social Services Program. Accordingly, the Director was instructed in the manner as to how the Board wanted the estimates to be completed. The revised estimates were to be re-submitted to the Board for its consideration and.execution. Upon motion made, seconded and duly adopted, it was RESOLVED to adjourn the meeting until 9:30 o'clock a. m. on Monday, April 19, 1971, at the County Office Building, at the corner of Steele and Wicker Streets, in the City of Sanford, North Carolina.
