Each operation of the <br />dispensing device in violation of this Ordinance shall be a separate offense." <br />Commissioner W. H. Cooper moved that the Ordinance be approved on <br />this, its second reading, and that its full text be published in the Sanford Herald, <br />a newspaper published in the County, and that the Clerk cause the same to be <br />recorded in the Ordinance book, together with the certificate of publication. <br />Commissioner Perry White seconded the motion, and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted, with Messrs. Cooper, Rogers, White, G. Wicker and F. Wicker voting <br />for it and no one voting against it. <br />The Clerk reported that the Library.Board of Trustees desired to <br />have their status clarified and to that end submitted their resignations in order <br />that the Board may reappoint Trustees. The Board, upon motion of Commissioner <br />Rogers, seconded by Commissioner White, unanimously resolved to appoint the <br />following persons for the terms indicated and until their successors are appointed <br />and qualify: <br />Appointee <br />Mrs. Clarice Wicker <br />Mr. Gilbert Matthews <br />Dr. John E. Upon motion made, seconded and duly adopted, specifications <br />submitted were approved and the Clerk authorized to run an ad for bids to be <br />submitted at the meeting of the Board on the first Monday in June, 1971. <br />Commissioner Rogers reported on the status of the main doors to the <br />County Armory, reported that the lowest of the three bids he obtained was in the <br />amount of $1,175.00 from the Ernest Glass Company, and that this type door satisfied <br />the security requirements of the National Guard. Upon motion of Commissioner <br />Gordon A. Wicker, seconded by Commissioner Perry White, the Board resolved to <br />appropriate the sum of $1,175.00 from the Emergency and Contingency fund to the <br />fund for the maintenance of the armory for the purpose of purchasing and installing <br />new doors, and contract for such work be awarded to the Ernest Glass Company in <br />keeping with their low bid. The motion was unanimously adopted with Messrs. <br />Cooper, Rogers, White, G. Wicker and F. Wicker all voting for it and no one <br />voting against it. <br />The Board next considered the request of the Sanford City Board of <br />Education for a2ilditional funds. Commissioner Rogers moved that there be <br />appropriated from the excess funds collected for school purposes the amount of <br />$5, 883.00 to the Sanford City Board of Education for the purpose, of making capital <br />outlay expendi+tures in providing for a bus parking lot and a student pick-up station <br />and a teacher and visitor parking lot at the Sanford Central Campus; and that the <br />sum of $7,021. 49 be appropriated from the funds collected for school purposes be <br />distributed to the Sanford City Board of Education and the Lee County Board of <br />Education on a per capita basis so that the Sanford City Board of Education receives <br />$5, 000.00 and the Lee County Board of Education receives the sum of $2,021. 49 <br />for additional funds for current expense to carry on regular maintenance program <br />through the remainder of the school year in the Sanford City Board of Education area <br />
