e009 7 Ra A Dr. B. T. Brooks, Superintendent of Lee County Schools, appeared before the,Board and requested the sum of $2, 379. 00, be appr'opriated to the Lee County Schools for the 1970-71 capital outlay to be used on their heating systems. Dr. Brooks stated this appropriation would keep the current expense and capital outlay on a per pupil basis during the entire year and would enable the Lee County Schools to purchase two 10, 000 gallon fuel oil tanks and the expense of burying. the :tanks. He stated that the current expense appropriation approved on May 17, 1971:', would be used for elementary salaries. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the sum of $2, 379. 00 be appropriated first from the collections for the levy for school purposes for the, current year and any necessary balance to come from the Emergency and Contingency Fund to capital outlay fund for the Lee County Schools, to enable them to purchase two 10, 000 gallon fuel oil tanks and the expense of burying same and the allocation of the previous appropria- tion for the current expense for elementary salaries be approved. Commissioner Perry White seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted, as follows: AYE, Cooper, Rogers, White, F. Wicker and G. Wicker NA Y. None Upon motion made, seconded and duly adopted, the meeting adjourned until 9:30 o'clock a, m., on Monday, June 21; 1971, in the Commissioners' Room in the County Office Building, at the corner of Steele and Wicker Streets in the City of Sanford, North Carolina.
