WK 1 P96 ~7U~ 4. for Lee County, that it exercise the authority conferred upon it under N. C. General Statute 115-80 (a) to approve the proposed and requested expenditures for adding of supplementing items of expenditures in the current expense fund, including additional personnel and/or supplements to the salaries of personnel, as set forth in the budget estimate andto make a sufficient tax levy to provide the funds so approved. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Commissioner Perry White moved the adoption of the following: WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has considered the various items for the budget estimate for the fiscal year July 1, 1971, through June 30, 1972, NOW, THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners for Lee County, that said budget estimate for the expenses of the operation of the County of Lee and its various agencies and departments for the fiscal year July-l, 1971, through June 30, 1972, be and the same is hereby tentatively adopted as the budget of Lee County for said fiscal year; and the tax rate for said County of Lee be and the same is hereby tentatively fixed and established at $1.67. for each $100.00 valuation of the taxable property for the fiscal year 1971-1972. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said budget be filed and lie on the table in the Office of the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners for Lee County for at least twenty (20) days for public inspection and that a summary of said budget or a notice of the filing of said budget in the Office of the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners be published in the Sanford Daily Herald at least twenty (20) days before it is finally adopted as the budget for the fiscal year 1971-1972. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote it was adopted by a majority vote as follows: AYE NAY Commissioners Cooper, Rogers, Gordon None A. Wicker,. Perry White and Franklin Wicker The Chairman presented to the Board the report entitled "Survey Data and Proposed Management Program for Soil Waste Disposal Lee County" prepared by the Sanitary Engineering Division, North Carolina State Board of Health, Raleigh, North Carolina, and the same was considered and reviewed by the Board. Upon motion of Commissioner Cooper, seconded by Commissioner White, the Report was approved. Upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, seconded by Commissioner Rogers, the Chairman was authorized to obtain an option upon land to serve as the land fill for the County's Solid Waste Disposal Program. The Chairman presented for the Board's consideration a Non- discrimination Agreement under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, being FHA form 400-4 under date of 12/29/64, for consideration by the Board. After review, the Chairman was authorized to execute such agreement on behalf of the County. The Chairman presented for consideration by the Board an-Equal Opportunity agreement which is FHA form 400-1 and being a revision of 2/17/71. The Chairman was authorized on behalf of the County to execute on motion of Commissioner Rogers, seconded by Commissioner White and unanimously adopted.
