the Commission's meeting room in the former Ball Room of the Wilrik Building. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker and Mr. Billy Ray Cameron, <br />r epor.ted on their meeting with the Farm Home Administration people and advised <br />the Board that the FHA would not allow the transfer of funds from one item to <br />another with respect to the County's land fill project. <br />The bills of Boney and Newcomb; Engineers, in the amount of <br />$950. 99, and the bill of Coker Blue for $63, 399. 24, with respect to the County <br />Water and Sever lines were approved for payment. <br />Commissioner Perry White moved that Mrs. J. Shelton Wicker <br />and Mr. Gilbert Matthews be appointed to the Lee County Library Board for <br />terms expiring on the 1st Monday in December, 1977. Commissioner J. Eugene <br />Rogers seconded the motion and upon a vote. it was unanimously adopted and the <br />Chairman declared the members duly appointed. <br />The Chairman read to the Board a letter received from the Recrea- <br />tion Commission of the City of Sanford, wherein they recommended the retention <br />of their staff in the establishment of the County's Recreation program. <br />The Chairman directed that copies of the letter be forwarded to the <br />County's appointees to the Recreation Commission. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, duly seconded <br />by Commissioner White, it was resolved.to appropriate the sum of $13, 500, 00 <br />from the unappropriated surplus in the General Fund to the Capital Improvement <br />Fund. The motion was approved upon a roll call vote wherein.Messrs. Cooper, <br />White,. Rogers, Gordon Wicker and Frank Wicker all voted for it and no one <br />voted against it. <br />The minutes of the meeting held on Monday, January 17, 1972, were <br />approved and ordered recorded. <br />The Chairman reported that the lease with Mr. Lee P. Thomas <br />for a house to be used as office space by the Welfare Department, had been <br />executed <br />Upon motion made, duly seconded and unanimously adopted, it <br />was resolved to adjourn the meeting until 9:30 o'lock a. m. , on Monday, <br />February 21, 1972.
