0 <br />Representatives of the Greenwood Water Association met with <br />the Board and discussed their attempts to increase the size of their water <br />lines which will go from the City of Sanford to the Lemon Springs area. <br />Representatives of the J. I. Case Company, presented material <br />and a film strip showing equipment sold by their company for use at land fill <br />sites. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner J.. Eugene Rogers, seconded by <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, and unanimously adopted, it was resolved <br />to extend the non-penalty period for tax listing through the 3rd day of March, <br />1972. <br />Mr. Tom Haislip, Chairman of the Lee County Agricultural <br />Extension Department, appeared before the Board and presented the written <br />report on the activities of his department. There was an extended discussion <br />about a soil survey and map of the county, and Mr. Haislip is to set up a <br />general interest meeting to determine the need for such a survey. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved the appointment of a <br />family planning task force to consist of the following persons: <br />Dr. Ben Brooks, Mrs. Louise Dowdy, Mr. Gordon A. <br />Wicker, Dr. W. H. White, Jr., Mrs. Frances Kelly, <br />Miss Mary Estelle Doyle,. Mr. Mack Worley, Mr. C. T. <br />Fulkerson, Mrs. Louise Burkey,. Mrs. Maggie Fox, <br />Mrs. Sammie Pearson, Rev. Hampton, Mrs. Gloria <br />Pickard, and Mrs. Chloie Gulledge <br />Commissioner William H. Cooper seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote it was unanimously adopted and the persons' named were declared <br />to be duly appointed by the Chairman: <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker reported to the Board that he <br />had been in contact with Dr. Garvin of the Health Department and Dr. Garvin <br />was requesting that an addition be built to provide additional space and . <br />facilities at the Health Department. <br />e <br />The audit of-Lee County Hospital was presented to the Board and <br />copies distributed to each member thereof. <br />Commissioner.Cooper was authorized by the Board to initiate <br />procedures to gain'approval for the purchase of another ambulance for use <br />by the Lee County Ambulance Service. , <br />Upon motion of Commissioner William H. Cooper, duly seconded <br />and unanimously adopted, the County Accountant was authorized to advance <br />$200. 00 to the representatives of the Ambulance Service for use as travel- <br />ing expense in going to Memphis, Tennessee, to pick up the ambulance recently <br />purchased. <br />The written report of Mr. Nathan Crissman, Tax Collector, was <br />presented to the Board and copies distributed. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker reported on his meeting with <br />the group organizing a program for the Senior Citizens of Lee County. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner William.H. Cooper, duly seconded <br />by Commissioner Perry White, and unanimously adopted, Chairman Franklin D. <br />Wicker and Commission Gordon A.
