x WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, has investigated the condition of the above described road which is now a part of the system of roads maintained by the State Highway Commission, and which is indicated in red on the attached map; and WHEREAS, after careful consideration of the services rendered by said road and the traffic demands of said County, it is deemed necessary that said road be improved in order to better serve the interests of the people of this county. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, and the Board of County Commissioners hereby approved and request that the State Highway, Commission make the following improvements in the above described road: Paved. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. A petition of the. property owners on Wintergreen Drive in Green Valley Estates, West Sanford Township, was presented to the Board and con- sidered. Commissioner William H. Cooper moved the adoption of the following resolution with respect to said road: WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, requesting that the above described road, the location of which has been indicated in red on the attached map, be added.to the Secondary Road System; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the opinion that the above described road should be added to the Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards and criteria established by the State Highway Commission for the addition of'roads to the System. NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, that the State Highway Commission is hereby requested to review the above described road,, and to take over the road for maintenance if it meets established standards and criteria. Commissioner Gordon H. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. The monthly bills as tabulated by the County Accountant were pre- sented to the Board and considered. After discussion and consideration, the monthly bills were approved for payment. . Commissioner William H. Cooper moved that the terms for the original appointees to.the Recreation Commission be set as follows: For a term expiring on June 30, 1973;., Commissioner.J. Eugene Rogers, Mr. Worth Pickard;' Mr. Watson P.' Kelly.' Fora term-'expiring on June 30,. 1974, Dr.. Charles Tullock, Mr. Dale White and Mr. Richard Branch. Fora term expiring on June 30, 1975; Mr. Jimmy Gairies,- Mrs.. Marietta Watson and Mr. James. E. Heins. ` Commissioner Perry White seconded the'motibnand upon a vote it was"unanimously adopted and the appointees'were de clared-appointed for the terms as set out in the resolution by the Chairman.
