Both the principal of this bond, and unless this bond be registered as to both principal and inte- rest, the interest hereon, are payable at the principal office of Chemical Bank, in the City of New York, State of New York, or, at the option of the holder or registered owner, at Wachovia Bank & Trust Company, N. A., in Raleigh, North Carolina, in any coin or currency of the United States of America which, at the respective date of payment, is legal tender for-the payment of public and private debts. Payment of the interest on this bond to the maturity ~S hereof will be made only upon presentation and surrender of the coupons, if any, representing such interest as the same respectively fall due, or, if this bond be registered as to both principal and interest, payment of the interest on this bond on any interest payment date will be made to the person appearing on the bond registration books of said County of Lee as the registered owner hereof,~'such interest to be paid by check mailed to the registered owner,at his address as it appears on such registration books. This bond may be registered as to principal alone and also as to both principal and interest in accordance with the pro- visions endorsed hereon. This bond is issued pursuant to the County Finance Act of North Carolina, and a bond order duly adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the County on September 7, 1971, to finance the acquisition of vehicles, equipment, apparatus and furnishings to be used by Lee County in conjunction with the maintenance and operation by said County of sanitary landfill.facilities for the disposal of garbage, refuse and other wastes.,.
