The monthly bills as listed by the County Accountant were <br />distributed and examined, and approved for payment upon a. motion made, <br />seconded and duly adopted. <br />The Chairman reported that they had received a response <br />from Governor Robert Scott, acknowledging their expression of sympathy <br />at the passing of his mother. <br />The Board then considered specifications for equipment <br />at the County Landfill Site. Upon motion of Commissioner White, seconded <br />by Commissioner Cooper, the specifications presented were approved and <br />it was authorized to advertise for bids. <br />Commissioner Rogers was authorized to secure a reservation <br />of suitable quarters by use of the commissioners at the convention of County <br />Commissioners to be held in Pinehurst. <br />Commissioner Rogers moved and Commissioner Cooper second- <br />ded a motion that the Chairman be appointed as a delegate to the convention of <br />County Commissioners. <br />Commissioner W. H. Cooper reported on the cost estimate <br />received for the sewer line to the proposed addition of Dunning, Ltd. , on U. S. <br />421, east of Sanford. <br />Conrunissioner Cooper moved that the Board make the following <br />appointments <br />1) Mr. Vesper Cox to the Sanford Planning Board for a three- <br />year. term expiring June 30, 1975. <br />r <br />2) Mr. Harold Stewart to the Sanford Board of Adjustment for a three <br />year term expiring June 30,1975. <br />3) Mr. Tom Haislip to the Lee County Personnel Board for a <br />term of three years, expiring aTune 30, 1975. <br />The County Accountant called to the attention of the Board <br />that a considerable amount of the accounts receivable for the Ambulance Service <br />represented statements due by Welfare recipients. Since it would amount to <br />the County appropriating funds for one department to pay to another department, <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the County Accountant be authorized <br />to write off or remove such accounts from the Ambulance Service books. <br />Commissioner W. H. Cooper seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimous- <br />ly adopted. <br />It was reported to the Board, that there was a problem about <br />rodents in the Fourth Street area in the City of Sanford and the matter was referred <br />to the County Health Department for action.. <br />The Board gave consideration to the twenty day requirement of <br />advertising before considering the budget further and upon motion made, seconded <br />and unanimously adopted, it.was,RESOLVED to adjourn,'the meeting until Tuesday, <br />June 27, 1972, at 9:30 o'clock a. m. , to reconvene at the Commissioners' Room <br />of the County Office Building.
