Comm- issioner Rogers seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted on a fell call vote wherein Messrs. Cooper, Rogers, White, G. Wicker and F. Wicker all voted for it and no one voted against it. In order to close the County Ac countant's.,books for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1972, and balance-the appropriations with authorized expen- ditures, it was RESOLVED to appropriate the following amounts to the funds indicated: County Commissioners $ 207.00 Tax Collector 675. 00 Sheriff (automobile operation $5, 000) 937. 00 Elections 2,370. 00 Auditor 276. 00 Courthouse Operation 720.00 Ambulance 2, 140. 00 General Relief 7, 486. 00 Electrical Inspector 80. 00 Superior Court 385.00 Compensation and surety bonds 448.00 Jail 882. 00 Commissioner Cooper moved the adoption of the foregoing. Commissioner Rogers seconded the motion andipon a vote, Messrs. Cooper, Rogers, White, G. Wicker and F. Wicker all voted for it and no one voted against it. Tabulation of the monthly bills was presented to the Board and authorized for payment, upon motion of Commissioner Gordon Wicker, .seconded by Commissioner Cooper, and unanimously adopted. The Tax Collector reported that the City of Sanford had paid the taxes upon property leased by it but in making said payment had taken a deduction for $164. 08 for taxes due by Lee County upon property which it had purchased and had assumed the balance of taxes. Upon motion of Commissioner Cooper, seconded by Commissioner Gordon Wicker, it was Resolved to appropriate the sum of $104. 08 from the unappropriated surplus in the General Fund for the payment of taxes on realty in the amount of $164. 08 and for payment of this sum to the Tax Collector of Lee County and to reimburse him for the deduction made by the City of Sanford. Upon a vote, Messrs. Cooper, Rogers, White, G. Wicker and F. Wicker all voted for it and no one voted against it. A representative of a communication company appeared before the Board and discussed working up a maintenance proposal covering all of the maintenance of the communication equipment operated by the County. Such a survey was authorized. The Chairman presented to the Board for its consideration, the Charter Resolution for the establishment of Triangle J Council of Governments. The matter was discussed and then Commissioner White moved that the Charter Resolution be adopted. Commissioner Rogers seconded the motion. The resolution was adopted upon a roll call vote wherein Messrs. Cooper, Rogers, White, G. Wicker and F. Wicker all voted for and no one voted against it. The Charter Resolution in its entirety is attached to these minutes and by such reference incorporated herein. The Chairman read a letter from Mrs. Barbara C. Kuhn, request- ing that additional funds be made available for the County and City Schools and also speaking in favor of a merger.
