nox a mr, 139 4) <br />2. <br />a That Harry Thomas Lumber Company owns all the property <br />abutting the side lines of that portion of Gunter Street which <br />extends northwardly from the intersection of Gunter Street and <br />Winfield Street. <br />b. That as of October 16, 1972, Structural Fibers, Inc. owns <br />the property which adjoins the north terminus of Gunter Street <br />and that the aforesaid portion of Gunter Street extending north- <br />wardly from the intersection of Gunter Street and Winfield Street <br />is not reasonably necessary for ingress and egress to the tract <br />owned by Structural Fibers, Inc. <br />c. That the closing of that portion of Gunter Street which <br />extends northwardly from the intersection of Gunter Street and <br />Winfield Street and which abuts Lots Nos. 1 through 14 of <br />Block 5 and Block 1 as shown on map recorded in Map Book 3, <br />page 111, Lee County Registry, would not be contrary to the <br />public interest nor deprive any individual owning property in <br />the vicinity of said roadway of a reasonable means of ingress or <br />egress. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee <br />County Board of Commissioners that the portion of Gunter Street <br />extending northwardly from the intersection of Gunter Street and <br />Winfield and abutting Lots Nos. 1 through 14 of Block 5 and <br />Block 1 as shown on map duly recorded in Map Book 3, page 111, <br />Lee County Registry, be and the same is hereby ordered closed <br />from the date hereof as a public roadway. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in accordance with the <br />provisions of N. C. GS 153-9 (17) that a certified copy of this <br />Resolution and Order, together with an affidavit of publication and <br />any necessary evidence of service upon adjoining land owners be <br />and the same are hereby ordered recorded in the office of the <br />Register of Deeds of Lee County, North Carolina <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />There was a discussion about Comprehensive Health Planning, but <br />no formal action was taken. <br />The County Manager distributed drafts of the recommendations to be <br />submitted by the On-site Assistance Committee with respect to Civil Defense. <br />These recommendations were reviewed and given tentative approval by the <br />Board. <br />Mr. Albert Adcock and Mr. Roy Utley appeared before the Board on <br />behalf of Johnson-Adcock, Realtors, with respect to land which they own <br />adjoining the Warren Williams School site. Mr. Kenneth Brinson and Mr. <br />Ernest Atkinson appeared on behalf of the City Board of Education and requested <br />that the Commissioners provide the necessary funds to purchase the property. . <br />Mr. Adcock stated that he would withhold action for two weeks, but at that time <br />he would appreciate a decision as to whether or not the property was going to be <br />purchased for public use or if he might proceed with his private development of <br />the property. <br />Mr. Orton Cameron appeared on behalf of Mackts Stores and requested <br />assistance on the installation of a sewer line on Dogwood Street to serve the new <br />Mack's Stores Offices which will be located outside of the City of Sanford. The <br />Board was of the opinion that the bond money was not available for this project <br />
