BOOK 8 PACE i4't <br />WHEREAS, the Local Government Commission and Lee County both desire <br />to obtain the professional assistance of John C. Muse & Company in implementing <br />the uniform accounting system under a plan which is expected to be partially <br />financed under Section 701 of the (Federal) Housing Act of 1954, as amended; <br />NOW THEREFORE, be it hereby resolved by the Board of Commissioners of <br />Lee County: <br />(1) That Robert R. Harris, County Manager, be authorized to request <br />the professional assistance as described above, and to assure the Local Govern- <br />ment Commission that Lee County will cooperate in every way in the conduct of <br />this project, including assignment of duties in performance of implementation <br />tasks by officers and employees of Lee County to the extent required to complete <br />the conversion tasks (selected and agreed upon) on or before May 1, 1973. <br />(2) That this Resolution shall become part of the public record of the <br />governing body of Lee County and two copies shall be duly certified by the clerk <br />of the governing body and forthworth transmitted to the Secretary of the Local <br />Government Commission. <br />(3) This Resolution shall become effective upon its adoption, <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Eugene Rogers, seconded by Commissioner <br />Gordon Wicker, the foregoing Resolution was passed by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Chairman Franklin Wicker and Commissioners Wicker, Rogers, White <br />and Cooper. <br />Noes: None <br />I, Kenneth Hoyle, Clerk of the Board of Commissioners of Lee County, North <br />Carolina, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by the <br />governing body of Lee County at a regular meeting thereof, a quorum being present. <br />This 6th day of November, 1972. <br />The following Resolution was read and adopted: <br />Commissioner W. H. Cooper moved that the following resolution be adopted: <br />WHEREAS, the Local Government Commission of North Carolina has <br />informed the Board of Commissioners that it has sold in the manner prescribed by <br />law the $350,000 Water and Sewer Bonds of the County of Lee, dated November 1, <br />1972 authorized to be issued by bond orders adopted by the Board of Commissioners <br />on April 5, 1971 and that the contract of sale contemplates that said bonds shall <br />bear interest as hereinafter provided: NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED that said bonds shall bear interest as follows: <br />Bonds payable in each of the years 1974 to 1976, inclusive, 5% per annum; <br />Bonds payable in each of the years 1977 to 1982, inclusive, 4.25% per <br />annum; <br />Bonds payable in each of the years 1983 to 1985, inclusive, 4.50% per <br />annum; <br />Bonds payable in the year 1986, 4.60% per annum; <br />Bonds payable in the year 1987, 4.70% per annum; <br />and <br />Bonds payable in each of the years 1988 and 1989, 4.80% per annum. <br />-3- <br />
