Pursuant to N.C. General Statute § 153A-52.1, Chairman Hayes opened the floor for public comments. The following signed up to speak and were allowed 3 inutes for comments: 1. Mr. Keith Clark, 212 Acorn Drive, Sanford The Board considered a recommendation from , County Fire Advisory Board in reference to the West Sanford Fire Department. Mr. Donald Andre Chairman of the Lee County Fire Advisory Board told Commissioners that during the FY 09-10 bu t process, the Fire Advisory Board was instructed to work with the West Sanford Fire D , nt on a long-range plan to merge with another department by January 1, 2010. Mr. Andrews st t the West Sanford Fire Department Board of Directors' has voted to be acquired by t orthvie Fire Department. The Northview Fire Department Board of Directors' has voted to mov rw with cquiring the West Sanford Fire Department and to begin serving the West Sanford Fire tive July 1, 2010. Mr. Andrews asked for approval and support of the Lee County Board o ommissioners for the above-referenced merger and asked that the County Attorney an arsha s Office assist in the process to expedite the transition. After discussion, Commission . Oldh moved to accept the recommendation of the Lee County Fire Advisory Board to begin the a process of the West Sanford and Northview Fire Departments effective July 1, 2010 and for the K unty Attorney's office and Fire Marshal's office to assist with the transition.
