Merchandising, advertising and or safety and security indicates, at the discretion of signs. the director. (Ord. of 9-4-84, § 5.01) Sec. 18-37. Nuisances. (a) Intoxicating beverages and other drugs. The possession and/or consumption of alcoholic bever- ages or other intoxicating beverages, and the inhal- ing or ingestion of illicit drugs into the body in any manner, is not permitted in any park. (b) Firearms and weapons. Possession or dis- charge of any instrument that fires a potentially dangerous projectile, gas or liquid is prohibited ex- cept in designated areas. (c) Fireworks and explosives. Possessing, explod- ing, discharging or burning within, or bringing into park area any fireworks or other potentially danger- ous inflammable material is prohibited. In any bona fide emergency, the discharge of distress signals is permitted. (d) Domestic animals. Animals shall be excluded from any place where food or drinks are served, except within automobile parking areas and walks immediately adjacent thereto. The running of ani- mals at large is prohibited. Animals shall be kept at all times on leashes not greater than six feet in length. No domestic animals shall be allowed in or on bathing areas or in any body of water within a park area. (e) Public nuisance and disorderly conduct. Who- ever commits such acts as are of a nature to corrupt the public morals or outrage the sense of public decency or affect the peace and quiet of persons who may witness them, or engage in brawling or fighting or engages in such conduct as to constitute a hazard to the health, safety or welfare of other park visitors shall, upon due notice of violation, be classed as a trespasser, and ordered to leave the park. (a) Vending and peddling. No person shall ex- pose or offer for sale any article or thing nor shall he station or place any stand, cart, or vehicle for the transportation, sale or display of any such article or merchandise within the limits of any parks. Excep- tion is here made as to any regularly licensed con- cessionaire acting by and under the authority and regulation of the department and providing foods, goods or services for the benefit of the public. (b) Advertising and publicity. All advertising or publicity posted or announced in or on park property must be approved by the park manager or director of parks and recreation. The finding of lost articles shall be reported to the park manager or administrative offices of the parks and recreation department. While the director can assume no responsibility for search, every reason- able effort to find valuable lost property will be made or to locate the owners of found items. This division may be enforced by any appropriate remedy authorized by G.S. 153A-123. (Ord. of 8-24-78, § III) Sec. 18-62. Penalty for violation of division. (f) Impersonation of department personnel.
