G 26
0
STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
BEVERLY EAVES PERDUE
GOVERNOR
October 21, 2009
•
LEE COUNTY
Mr. Barry Wilson
725 Chris Cole Road
Sanford, NC 27332
EUGENE A. CONTi, JR.
SECRETARY
SUBJECT: DRIVEWAY PERMIT - Proposed indoor Baseball Batting Facility and Retail.
SR 1303(Center Church Road) and SR 1305 (Henley Road)
Preliminary
Dear Mr. Wilson:
Thank you for requesting a preliminary review for the subject developments. We have reviewed the sites
per NCDOT's Policy on Street and Driveway Access to North Carolina Highways and we offer the
following comments to assist you in obtaining the required access permit:
• A completed driveway application and inspection fee will be required.
• At this time, expected traffic for the proposed land use does not require turn lanes for the site. If
there is a change in the land use then the site will have to be re-evaluated.
• Driveway access could be allowed off of Henley Road (SR 1305) and Center Church Road (SR
1303). A proposed drive off of Center Church Road would have to be placed along the west
property line. (Minimum of 20' from the property line) A proposed drive off of Henley Road would
have to be placed a minimum of 200' from the intersection with Center Church Road.
Upon receipt of the above-mentioned information a more detailed review will follow. If this office can be of
further assistance, please advise.
Sincerely,
C E Dumas Jr., P.E.
District Engineer
CED: JTG
cc: T. Johnson, PE
J.
