013 <br />financial crisis since they lost State funding last year. The City proposes to purchase, from Brick <br />Capital, the Makepeace building located at 403 Makepeace Street which is their biggest expense. It <br />was suggested that a meeting be held with City and County representatives, the Sanford Housing <br />Authority, and CCCC to put a 2-3 year plan in place for Brick Capital. <br />UDO Text Amendments - Solar Farms — Community Development Director Marshall Downey <br />stated the Planning Board recommended approval of the text amendments presented to the Board of <br />Commissioners at their last meeting and will be presented for approval at their July 130' meeting. <br />Fiber Optic Update — County Manager John Crumpton stated a map had been provided by GIS <br />showing where all cable (fiber optic) lines are located in the Industrial Park. Mr. Crumpton will <br />recommend to the Board of Commissioners to pay the $33,000 needed to run the fiber optic line to the <br />airport. <br />Sales Tax Update — Sales tax distribution was discussed and how it would affect the City and <br />Town of Broadway if approved by the General Assembly. Mr. Crumpton stated the County would have <br />to follow State Statutes to make sure everything is done fairly. <br />Broadway Included in Joint Meetings — Chair Dalrymple suggested that the Mayor and Town <br />Manager from the Town of Broadway be included in future meetings of the Joint Interlocal Committee <br />meetings. All agreed to invite them for future meetings. <br />Coal Ash Update — Chair Dalrymple stated she is working with Duke Energy to come for a <br />meeting and present a time line on the project. Well and service testing are to be completed soon. <br />Downton Sidewalk Renovation Project — Mayor Mann stated the City has not received any <br />complaints from store owners on the sidewalk construction project. The project is moving along <br />smoothly and should be completed in September or October. All renovations to the downtown area <br />should be completed by November. <br />The Committee agreed to meet for their next meeting at 11:30 a.m., Monday, September 14, <br />2015 in the Wicker Conference Room at the Lee County Government Center. <br />With no further business to come before the Joint Sub -Committee, the meeting adjourned at <br />4:55 p.m. <br />ATTEST: <br />Gaynell M.
