The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) provides a one-time vendor payment to <br />help eligible households pay their heating bills. Only households containing an elderly person age 60 <br />and above or a disabled person receiving services through the Division of Aging and Adult Services <br />(DAAS) are eligible to receive benefits from December 1St through January 31St, or until funds are <br />exhausted. Commissioner Oldham moved to approve the above referenced Home Energy Supplier <br />Agreements as presented, copies of which are attached to these Minutes and by this reference made a <br />part hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, and Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Smith <br />The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The third renewal contact presented by Ms. Potts was with Value Mart (307 Carthage Street) for <br />Non -Emergency Medicaid Transportation. Ms. Potts stated one of the methods of providing services in <br />the Non -Emergency Medicaid Transportation Program is through a gas voucher. The client uses the <br />gas voucher to purchase gas for transportation to medical appointments. The client takes the voucher <br />to the vendor and the vendor allows the client to pump the gas amount of the voucher after proper ID is <br />provided. Ms. Potts stated this contract cannot exceed $60,000, as this is the projected estimate based <br />on prior year spending. Commissioner Reives moved to approve the renewal contract with Value Mart <br />for Non -Emergency Medicaid Transportation, a copy of which is attached to these Minutes and by this <br />reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, and Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Smith <br />The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The last renewal vendor contract presented by Ms. Potts was for Value Mart (307 Carthage <br />Street) for the Work First Program. Ms. Potts stated frequently services in the TANF Program <br />(Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) require that clients are provided gas for transportation. The <br />gas is provided by way of a voucher that the client takes to the vendor. After proper identification is <br />provided, the client is allowed to pump gas in the amount of the voucher. Commissioner Frazier <br />moved to approve the renewal contract with Value Mart for the Work First Program, a copy of which is <br />attached to these Minutes and by this reference made a part hereof.
