BK:00027 PG -.0439 <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, and Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Smith <br />The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered proposed fees for the provision of Intrauterine Device (IUD) <br />Contraception Services in the Health Department. Health Director Terrell Jones stated the Lee County <br />Health Department, under guidance of the North Carolina Department of Health Human Services <br />Branch, is strongly encouraged to offer long acting reversible contraceptive (LARC) methods of birth <br />control. The Health Department is encouraged to make an effort to provide a broad range of <br />contraceptive methods including LARC options to aid clients who wish to delay or prevent pregnancy. <br />Mr. Jones further stated the ability to offer intrauterine devices within the health department will aid in <br />sustaining provision of quality family planning services for client centered care. Surrounding counties <br />and private vendors were surveyed to get pricing. The Board of Health approved the following fees at <br />their May 13th meeting that match Medicaid reimbursement: <br />$ 478.00 Intrauterine Device (IUD) Fee-MIRENA <br />$ 387.00 Intrauterine Device (IUD) Fee-PARAGUARD <br />$ 153.00 Insertion Fee for Intrauterine Device <br />$ 153.00 Removal Fee for Intrauterine Device <br />After discussion, Commissioner Frazier moved to approve the proposed fees referenced above for the <br />Provision of Intrauterine Device Contraception Services for the Lee County Health Department. Upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, and Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Smith <br />The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered renewal contracts for the Department of Social Services. Social Services <br />Director Brenda Potts presented the first renewal contract with Christian Healthcare Adult Day Care <br />which is a day care for adults that are unable to stay alone during the day. These individuals would <br />normally go to an Adult Care Home (Rest Home) if it were not for family members who care for them in <br />the evenings and weekends. Commissioner Frazier moved to approve the renewal contract between <br />the Lee County Department of Social Services and Christian Healthcare Adult Day Care, a copy of <br />which is attached to these Minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, and Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Smith <br />The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Ms. Potts next presented renewal home energy supplier agreements with Blossom Gas, PSNC, <br />Central Electric Membership, Citgo Value Mart, Duke Energy Progress, and Hunter Oil. The Crisis <br />Intervention Program (CIP) provides assistance to eligible households that are in a heating or cooling <br />related emergency.
