Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Knecht and Smith <br />BK:00027 PG -0437 <br />Oldham, Reives, and Sloan <br />The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Pursuant to N.C. General Statute §153A-52.1, Chair Dalrymple opened the floor for Public <br />Comments. The following signed up to speak and were allowed 3 minutes for comments: <br />Mr. Keith Clark, 212 Acorn Drive, Sanford (budget) <br />The Board considered bids for demolition of the San -Lee Nature Center that burned on <br />November 28, 2014. General Services Director Russell Spivey stated Commissioners approved <br />demolition of the Nature Center at their February 2, 2015 meeting. Bids for demolition of the structure <br />were received from four companies after a pre-bid meeting that was held on May 4, 2015. The <br />following bids were received for the demolition project: <br />A-1 Salvage and Demolition, Archdale, NC $ 58,000 <br />EHG, Morrisville, NC $169,500 <br />D H Griffin, Raleigh, NC $170,750 <br />Cary Reconstruction, Apex, NC $229,500 <br />Sanford Contractors, Sanford, NC No Bid <br />Mr. Spivey stated there was concern the low bid from A-1 Salvage had failed to take all aspects of the <br />project into account since the range in bid amounts varied significantly. After speaking with a <br />representative from A-1, it was stated they completely understood the project and took all factors of the <br />job into account. A-1 Salvage submitted written notice they would stand by their bid if approved for the <br />project. After discussion, Commissioner Oldham moved to accept the low bid from A-1 Salvage and <br />Demolition, Archdale, NC, in the amount of $58,000 for demolition of the San -Lee Park Nature Center. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, and Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Smith <br />The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Knecht arrived during the beginning of the above discussion, at 4:07 p.m. <br />The Board considered an architectural services contract for the new San Lee Nature Center <br />building. County Manager John Crumpton stated the following eight responses had been received for <br />architectural services: <br />HH Architecture <br />Little Architecture <br />Frank Harmon Architect <br />Szostak Design <br />Smith Sinnett Architecture <br />ESPA architects & Planners <br />2 <br />
