Ms. Gartin <br />also stated money raised during Relay for Life of Lee County supports the American Cancer Society's <br />mission of saving lives and creating a world with less cancer. After the presentation, Commissioner <br />Sloan moved to approve a Proclamation for "Paint The Town Purple", a copy of which is attached to <br />these Minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, and Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Smith <br />The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a Preliminary Plat for McGilvary Estates Subdivision. Zoning <br />Administrator Althea Thompson asked the Board to consider the final decision on a Preliminary Plat. <br />Subject property was formerly a 55± tract that has been subdivided into six lots as a minor subdivision. <br />An additional 6 lots is now proposed which will make it a major subdivision. All requirements must be <br />met for a major subdivision, including approval by the Planning Board and approval by the Board of <br />Commissioners. Once the Preliminary Plat is approved, the final plat will be submitted to the <br />Department of Community Development planning staff for final plat review and approval/disapproval. <br />After discussion, Commissioner Frazier moved to approve the Preliminary Plat for McGilvary Estates <br />Subdivision as presented. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, and Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Smith <br />The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the FY 2015-16 Home and Community Care Block Grant for Older <br />Adults. Senior Services Director Debbie Davidson asked the Board to approve funds allocated through <br />Triangle J Area Agency on Aging in the amount of $354,929 that would be used in the following <br />services: <br />1. General and Medical Transportation, <br />2. Congregate and Home Delivered Meals, <br />3. Information and Options Counseling, <br />4. Senior Center Operations, and <br />5. Minor Home Repair <br />Ms. Davidson stated that matching funds in the amount of $39,438 would come from her budget for the <br />grant. After discussion, Commissioner Reives moved to approve the FY 2015-16 Home and <br />Community Care Block Grant as presented above.
