General Statute 153A-52.1, Chair Dalrymple opened the floor for Public <br />Comments. No one signed up to speak during this time. <br />The Board recognized County Manager John Crumpton who presented a Resolution honoring <br />Eagle Scouts that have earned the rank and participated in projects that benefited Lee County in some <br />way. Mr. Crumpton read the Resolution and stated copies will be presented to Troop Districts and <br />Councils that the Scouts represented. Commissioner Reives moved to approve a Resolution by the <br />Lee County Board of Commissioners Thanking Eagle Scouts for Service to Lee County, a copy of <br />which is attached to these Minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Commissioner Knecht arrived <br />during the reading of the Resolution (4:08 p.m.). <br />The Board considered text amendments to the Lee County Unified Development (UDO) <br />Ordinance. Zoning Administrator Althea Thompson stated the Lee County Planning Board <br />recommended approval of Amendments to Article 10 Site Design Standards to revise Section 10.7 to <br />read "10.7 Design Standards for Commercial Development along Thoroughfares and Freeways", <br />and revise the standards throughout the section to apply to commercial development and land uses <br />along thoroughfares and freeways, and to add a new section, "Section 10.8 Design Standards for <br />Industrial Development along Thoroughfares and Freeways", and add standards for industrial <br />development and land uses along thoroughfares and freeways. After discussion, Commissioner Frazier <br />moved to approve an Ordinance Amending the Lee County Unified Development Ordinance for the <br />above referenced text amendment, a copy of which is attached to these Minutes and by this reference <br />made a part hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Oldham, Reives, and Sloan <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Smith <br />The Chair ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Ms. Thompson stated the Lee County Planning Board recommended approval of Amendment 8. <br />Subsection 8.2.6 Paving Required, to add a new Item (c) to allow the parking for all uses in the land <br />use subheading Industrial and Manufacturing Uses and the Wholesale trade use in the land use <br />subheading General Sales or Service to construct and maintain a gravel surface if the required parking <br />is located in the Side Yard or Rear Yard of a site. After discussion, Commissioner Reives moved to <br />approve an Ordinance Amending the Lee County Unified Development Ordinance for the above <br />2 <br />
