BK:00027 PG:0340 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />BOARD RETREAT <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />VENUE 121 <br />121 CHATHAM STREET <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />APRIL 17 -18, 2015 <br />The annual Board Retreat of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 6 p.m., on Friday evening at Venue 121, 121 Chatham Street, <br />Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners attending included Amy M. Dalrymple, Dr. Andre <br />Knecht, Larry "Doc" Oldham, Robert T. Reives, Timothy S. Sloan, and Kirk D. Smith. <br />Commissioner Dr. Ricky D. Frazier was unable to attend. Staff members in attendance were <br />County Manager John Crumpton, County Attorney Kerry Schmid, Cooperative Extension <br />Director Susan Condlin, and Clerk to the Board Gaynell Lee. <br />Special guest for the evening included Lee County Representative Brad Salmon and <br />guest Rebecca Wyhof. <br />Chair Dalrymple called the Retreat to order. <br />Commissioner Doc Oldham delivered the invocation. <br />During dinner, Cooperative Extension Director Susan Condlin discussed with the Board <br />concerns and issues involving funding and staffing for her organization. <br />Representative Salmon gave updates on the following current local bills: <br />• Hotel Occupancy Tax — request to increase from 3 cent to 6 cent, <br />• CCCC Trustee Bill — board appointment issue, and <br />• Repeal Partisan Election Bill — election of School Board members <br />County Manager John Crumpton discussed the following matters: <br />• Changes to Sales Tax <br />• Building Inspections <br />• Medicaid <br />• Transporting Funding <br />
