BK - 00027 PG:0314 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RECESSED MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />106 HILLCREST DRIVE <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />MARCH 23, 2015 <br />The recessed meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of <br />North Carolina, convened at 6 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, First Floor, Lee County <br />Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. <br />Commissioners present when the meeting was called to order were Amy M. Dalrymple, Dr. <br />Ricky D. Frazier, Dr. Andre Knecht, Larry "Doc" Oldham, Robert T. Reives, Timothy S. Sloan, <br />and Kirk D. Smith. <br />Chair Dalrymple called the meeting to order and the following business was transacted: <br />Commissioner Frazier delivered the invocation. <br />The pledge of allegiance was recited. <br />Chair Dalrymple stated this was a recessed meeting from the March 16th regular <br />meeting and therefore the only item to be reviewed and discussed was a Settlement and <br />Release Agreement with Duke Energy for coal ash disposal off Colon Road. Ms. Dalrymple <br />stated the Agreement was received in the County Manager's office Friday afternoon and <br />therefore staff had not had a lot of time to study and review. County Attorney Kerry Schmid <br />outlined major sections of the Agreement and asked the Board for direction and guidance on <br />some sections. After discussion and suggestions were provided, Chair Dalrymple called for a <br />5- minute recess. <br />Upon returning from recess, with all members present, the recessed meeting resumed. <br />The Board agreed for the County Attorney to contact Duke Energy with the recommended <br />changes /additions referenced before the recess. The County Attorney will keep the Board <br />updated on responses from Duke. <br />With no further business to come before the Board, Commissioner Frazier moved the <br />meeting be recessed until 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2015.
