G13 <br />terms expiring in 2017. No new appointments shall be made upon the expiration of the four <br />terms in 2016, thereby reducing the total number of Lee County members to six as of June 2016. <br />The Lee County Board of Commissioners shall not appoint any new members to the <br />Environmental Affairs Board until the expiration of the remaining six terms in June 2017, after <br />which, only five (5) members shall be appointed by the Lee County Board of Commissioners to <br />represent the County of Lee's jurisdiction. <br />Initially, seven (7) voting members shall be appointed by the Sanford City Council to represent <br />the City of Sanford's jurisdiction. Such appointments shall be comprised of those members of <br />the presently existing Environmental Affairs Board, and each member shall only serve the <br />remainder of the term of their original appointment. Three (3) of these seven members have <br />terms expiring in 2015; four (4) members have terms expiring in 2016. At the expiration of the <br />three terms in 2015, the City of Sanford shall appoint one new member, thereby reducing the <br />total number of City of Sanford members to five as of June 2015. In 2016, the City of Sanford <br />shall appoint four (4) new members to the Environmental Affairs Board, thereby bringing the <br />number of City of Sanford appointments to five. <br />Ex- Officio Members. In addition to the voting members, a representative of the Lee County <br />Board of Commissioners who serves at the appointment of the Chairman, the City of Sanford <br />Manager or his designee, and the Mayor of Broadway or his designee serve as ex- officio, non- <br />voting members of the Environmental Affairs Board. <br />The County of Lee, starting in 2017, shall appoint one member to serve a one year term, two <br />members to serve two year terms, and two members to serve three year terms. Thereafter, all <br />appointments or reappointments will be for three year terms. <br />The City of Sanford, starting in 2015, shall appoint one member to serve a two year term. In <br />2016, the City of Sanford shall appoint two members to serve two year terms and two members <br />to serve three year terms. Thereafter, all appointments or reappointments will be for three year <br />terms. <br />The Town of Broadway shall appoint one member to serve a three -year term and any successive <br />appointments or reappointments will be for a three year term. <br />2.02 Officers <br />The officers of the Environmental Affairs Board shall consists of a Chairman and Vice - Chairman. <br />These officers shall be elected by a majority vote of the membership of the Environmental <br />Affairs Board at its first meeting following the appointment of new members each year. <br />The Chairman shall preside over all regular and special meetings. In the absence or disability of <br />the Chairman, the Vice - Chairman shall preside and exercise all the powers of the Chairman. <br />2.03 Meetings <br />The Environmental Affairs Board shall meet at least every other month. The Board shall meet at <br />the call of the Chairman or at the written request of six (6) members. Meetings may be held <br />anywhere within Lee County.
