BK 00027 PG
County Manager's Report — December 15, 2014
Onnoina Projects
San -Lee Park Fire Update — The County is insured with the North Carolina Association
of County Commissioners Risk Management Pools for Property and Casualty claims.
The Associations Insurance Adjusters and Fire Investigator have already been on site
and have completed that part of their investigations. We are now waiting on the final
adjusters report. Our insurance policy has a replacement cost benefit. The policy will
pay to replace everything and put the building back to the way it was before the fire. We
have inquired about what would happen if we chose to not repair the building and seek
other options. I have already met with their Facilities Committee and recommended that the
architectural phase begin on the prioritize projects as soon as those are communicated
to the Board of Commissioners. CCCC President Bud Marchant has asked for a morning
meeting over coffee.
Other Joint Meetings — If the Board of Commissioners is interested in other joint
meetings, i.e. Board of Education, City of Sanford, Town of Broadway, etc. we need to
schedule those meetings in February or March before we get too far into our budget
process. Please be thinking about this so we can get these scheduled as soon as
possible.
Legislative Goals and New Commissioner Training — If you are interested in attending
these meetings please let Gaynell know as soon as possible. Space is limited for the
