<z-,zo1y---L <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION REMOVING CURRENT APPOINTED MEMBERS TO THE <br />SANFORD-LEE COUNTY PARTNERSHIP FOR PROSPERITY (SLCPP) BOARD OF <br />DIRECTORS AND DIRECTING COUNTY STAFF TO ADVERTISE FOR NEW <br />APPOINTMENTS <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Article III, Section 2(a) of the Sanford -Lee County Partnership <br />for Prosperity ("SLCPP") By -Laws and the Contract for Economic Development Services <br />between SLCPP and Lee County, the Lee County Board of Commissioners is responsible for <br />appointing three members to the SLCPP Board of Directors; and, <br />WHEREAS, at its regular meeting held on November 17, 2014, the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners appointed James K. Womack and Brian L. McRae to the SLCPP Board of <br />Directors; and, <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the Article III of the SLCPP By -Laws, "[a]ny appointing or <br />electing authority or group may remove their member of the Board of Directors, at any time, with <br />or without cause. Upon such removal, the appointing or electing authority shall then elect or <br />appoint an individual to replace the removed Director, who shall serve the remainder of the <br />removed Director's term;" and, <br />WHEREAS, this Board wishes to remove James K. Womack and Brian L. McRae from <br />their appointed positions to the SLCPP Board of Directors; and, <br />WHEREAS, this Board instructs county staff to advertise for new appointments to the <br />SLCPP Board of Directors with the following criteria: appointees must be residents of Lee <br />County, and appointees must be current in paying all local taxes. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners as <br />follows: <br />1. James K. Womack and Brian L. McRae are hereby removed from their appointments <br />as members of the SLCPP Board of Directors. <br />2. The County Clerk shall advertise for appointments to the SLCPP Board of Directors. <br />Such notice shall include the following criteria: Appointees must be residents of Lee <br />County and must be current on all local taxes. <br />Dated this the 1 st day of December 2014. <br />jyEST: <br />M.
