FDA & AFDO Retail Program Standards <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />0) 7 <br />How many additional food safety 2 <br />professionals will be directly impacted <br />(increased resources, knowledge, skills, <br />and /or improved job performance) by <br />those receiving the direct training? : <br />Training Description: <br />The trainings Lee County Environmental Health are interested in attending are the Southeast Region Seminar in <br />Savannah, Georgia and the FD 312 Special Processes in Retail in Winston - Salem, North Carolina on February 4- <br />5, 2015. These two training opportunities allow us as a program to network with other environmental health <br />programs across the country and discuss existing challenges within the regulatory field. This will also allow us to <br />consider new and innovative concepts that will aid our program by improving our efficiency and effectiveness to <br />provide to industry effective measures to mitigate risk concerning food safety. <br />Training Participants: <br />Joe West, Lead Food and Lodging field inspector <br />-Joe's responsibilities are to consider new and innovative concepts in order to educate our foodservice <br />establishments in order to continuously improve our capabilities while enhancing the capabilities of industry with <br />the county. <br />Shannon Cagle, Lead Food and Lodging Plan Review inspector and field inspector <br />- Shannon's responsibilities are similar to Joe's with the exception Shannon is the lead facilitator for new plan <br />reviews that have been submitted to this office. These trainings will allow her to proactively address directly with <br />new applicants strategies which will improve existing policy within the foodservice facility <br />Training Outcomes: <br />Objectives <br />-These trainings allow staff the opportunity to consider innovative ways to promote food safety and present these <br />concepts to local industry; <br />- Greater knowledge of food safety provides greater knowledge to the citizens we serve as a program; promoting <br />active measures to improve the well -being of all stakeholders; <br />- Networking with other agencies allows this program the opportunity to expand our knowledge -base and develop <br />partnerships which can build relationships throughout the nation; not just locally. <br />This county will measure achievement by completing a self - assessment in year 1 and then developing a baseline <br />study in year 2 to evaluate data concerning risk factors in Lee County. This training will be the springboard for <br />Standard 9 in year 2. <br />BUDGET INFORMATION <br />Budget Worksheet <br />1.)
