Eugene Rogers: The, Entire Board: County Office Building Ambulance Service Courthouse and Jail Courthouse and Jail Landfill Landfill, 'Courthouse Annex Health Building During this discussion andassignment, it was brought up for discussion that. such assignments may not be proper or necessary with a County Manager to oversee such activities and report-to the Board. In view of this discussion, the Board then proceeded to consider,the employment of a County Manager. Commissioner Hancock rea~a~~~~reared statement and, made a motion that Lee County abolish the Countwva M of Government and that the present County Manager be paid annual leave or vacation that he had accumulated to date. Mr. Hancock requested that his prepared statement be made a part of the minutes of this meeting and the statement is attached hereto as an exhibit. Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker seconded the motion and upon discussion of the motion, Commissioners Rogers and, Cooper both spoke in . favor of retaining the County Manager form of Government and the present County Manager. , A roll call vote was had with the following results: Aye: Hancock, F.. Wicker and G. Wicker Nay: Cooper and Rogers A majority having'voted in the affirmative, the motion carried. Upon motion of Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker, seconded by Commissioner Hal L. Hancock, it was unanimously Resolved to appoint Nathan Crissman as Tax Collector. Upon motion of Commissioner J. Eugene Rogers, seconded by William H. Cooper, it was unanimously resolved to employ Mrs. Beatrice Fields as County Accountant. Upon motion of Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker, seconded by Commissioner J. Proctor of the Farmers Home Administration, appeared before-the. Board and presented Commissioner. Gordon A. Wicker with a check representing the Farmers Home Administration's grant for the establishment of a solid waste disposal program. Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved that the regular meetings of the Board be set for the first and thrird Mondays of each month beginning at 9:30 o'clock a. in. at the County Office Building. During the discussion, it was suggested that the second meeting of the month be held in the evening, and the motion was amended to provide that the regular meetings of the Board be held on the first and third Mondays of each month at'the County Office Building at the corner of Steele and Wicker Streets in the City of Sanford, with the first meeting to begin at 9:30 o'clock a. m. and the second meeting to begin at 7:00 O'clock p. m. The motion and amendment were seconded by Commissioner Hal L. Hancock and upon a vote the resolution was unanaimousy adopted. The Clerk
