pp <br />BOOK 8 pp PAGE164 <br />- 2 - <br />Central Carolina Technical Institute educationally touches the lives <br />of many of the people of this county. Approximately 700 students attend <br />regular curriculum programs. Approximately 1,500 students attend extension <br />courses in any given month in Lee County. Many services are afforded the <br />people that no other educational institution could offer. These services <br />need to be expanded. <br />1. The payroll of CCTI is in excess of one million dollars annually, <br />Most of this money is spent in Lee County, <br />1 <br />2. Students spend between 250 and 300 thousand dollars annually in <br />Lee County. <br />3. Between 80 and 90 percent of our graduates who come from our <br />service area remain in this area to work after graduation. <br />4. Curriculum enrollment has increased at an average of 51% annually <br />for each of the past ten years with the bulk of the increase <br />coming in the past three years. <br />5. Extension enrollment has increased at an average of 55% annually <br />for the past ten years with the bulk of the growth coming in the <br />past two years. <br />6. More than 475 people have received high school diplomas through <br />CCTI since 1962. Many of these people have entered and completed <br />curriculum programs and are now a part of the local labor force. <br />
