BOOK 8 PAGE163
BACKGROUND
SUPPORT FOR REQUEST
The Board of Trustees of Central Carolina Technical Institute has
studied carefully the facility needs for the Institute for the immediate'
and near future and makes this request for bond funding based on the
following reasons:
1. Present space for needed programs is inadequate. Programs
have been postponed, delayed, or cancelled because of a lack
of space in which to carry them on.
2. We have declined admission of students in both curriculum
and extension programs because of a lack of classroomior shop
space.
3. Work space for the staff is scattered, crowded, and totally
inadequate for present personnel.
4. As the school is a "drive in" institution, students must have
an area to use between classes and at free periods. Present
space is inadequate.
5. A master plan has been completed for campus expansion and
beautification. Funds are needed to implement this plan.
6. State and federal funds have been received and used to match
all local funds received. These bond'funds will allow for
additional state and federal funds on a matching basis.
COMMUNITY IMPACT OF CCTI
Central Carolina Technical Institute is an integral part of the
community of Lee County, It is a source of monies that influence tae economy
of this community.
