P BOOK 8 PAGF 178 WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, requesting that the above described road, the location of which has been indicated in red on the attached map, be added to the Secondary Road System; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the opinion that the above described road should be added to the Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards and criteria established by the State Highway Commission for the addition of roads to the System. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, that the State Highway Commission is hereby requested to review the above described road, and to take over the road for main- tenance if it meets established standards and criteria. Commissioner Hal Hancock seconded the resDlution and upon a vote, it was unanimously adopted. Commissioner Cooper introduced the following bond order which was read at length: "BOND ORDER AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF $600, 000 TECHNICAL INSTITUTE BONDS OF LEE COUNTY" WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of Central Carolina Technical Institute has requested the Board of Commissioners of Lee County to provide funds for the erection of new buildings in Lee County for use by Central Carolina Technical Institute and to submit to the voters of Lee County at an election the question of issuing bonds of said County to finance such purpose and of levying a tax for the payment thereof; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Lee County deems it advisable to make the requested improve- ments; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED by the Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee, as follows: Section 1. The Board of Commissioners of the County of Lee, has ascertained and hereby determines that, in order to provide adequate facilities for the Central Carolina Technical Institute, it will be necessary to make the improve- ments hereinafter described, and that it will be necessary to expend for such purpose not less than $600,000, in addition to any funds which may be made available for such purpose from any other source. Section 2. In order to raise the money required to finance the erection and equipment of buildings in the County, of Lee for use by Central Carolina Technical Institute, including the acquisition of the necessary land or rights-in-land, bonds of the County of Lee, are hereby authorized and shall be issued pursuant to the County Finance Act of North Carolina.
