U <br />BOOK S PAGE208 <br />M <br />WHEREAS, the attached petition has been <br />filed with the Board of County Commissioners of the County <br />of Lee requesting that the above described road, the <br />location of which has been indicated in red on the attached <br />map, be added to the Secondary Road System; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners <br />is of the opinion that the above described road should be added <br />to the Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum <br />standards and criteria established by the State Highway <br />Commission for the addition of roads to the System. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY <br />THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS of the County <br />of Lee, that the Sate Highway Commission is hereby re- <br />quested to review the above described road, and to take over <br />the road for maintenance if it meets established standards <br />and criteria. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. J. Fletcher Rosser appeared before the Board and presented <br />a list of names with a recommendation for terms for appointments to the Human <br />Relation Council. Upon motion of Commissioner Hal L. Hancock, duly seconded <br />by Commissioner William H. Cooper, unanimously adopted upon a vote, it was <br />RESOLVED to appoint the following named persons to the Human Relations Council <br />for Lee County, for the term set forth opposite their name: <br />Name <br />Term <br />Charles A. Stokes, City Manager of the City of Sanford, appeared <br />before the Board and advised them he was preparing a study on the feasibility <br />of contracting with private industry for the collection of garbage in the City of <br />Sanford and wanted to know if a party contracting to perform such a service for the <br />City would be allowed to use the Sanitary Landfill the same as the City is allowed <br />to do. The Board advised the City Manager they saw no difference between the <br />service whether the service was performed by City employees or individuals who <br />
