BOOK p PACE <br />(A) The North Carolina Department of <br />Justice Police Information Network will install and <br />maintain for a period of one year a terminal connected <br />to the Police Information Network System and also train <br />operators selected and paid by the County to operate such <br />terminal. <br />(b) The County shall furnish a proper site <br />for installation of a Police Information Network terminaland <br />also furnish personnel to operate said terminal. <br />(C) The County shall assume the irental cost <br />a g (which cost shall include maintenance) of the Police Information <br />i Network terminal in the amount of $153. 50 (per month) beginning <br />one year from the date of installation thereof. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that <br />'5 the installation of a Police Information Network terminal be <br />and it is hereby formally approved by the Board of Comm- <br />issionersof Lee County, North Carolina, and that the Chair- <br />man of the Board of County Commissioners (or County Manager) <br />2~ ~,~y cm g~ of this County be and they are hereby empowered to sign and <br />execute the required Agreement between this County and the <br />North Carolina Department of Justice Police Information Net- <br />4 work. <br />Chairman Gordon A. Nicker reported that a letter had been <br />received from the North Carolina Department of Natural and Economic Resources <br />which stated that the County's request for Federal Funding Assistance in planning <br />could not be filled at this time. Planning, as such, was discussed by the members <br />and the general tenor of the discussion was to make provision in the forthcoming <br />budget for funds for a planning program and this would permit participation in a <br />Federally assisted program if funds would later become available. <br />Commissioner William H. Cooper advised the Board of the <br />activities in the Northview area, which might require the County to provide for <br />the extension of water or sewer lines in that area. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker reported on the State Fund <br />under the clean water program not being made available and in fact it may have <br />to be re-submitted to the voters in order to clear up technicalities before any <br />grant could be made. <br />Commissioner William H. Cooper reported that the Dickerson <br />building had been sold in the Williams Industrial Park and that an expansion was <br />planned which may necessitate the extension of water and sewer lines in that <br />area also. <br />Commissioners Hancock and F. Wicker were authorized to secure <br />bids for the purchase of a welder and cutting torch for use at the Sani£ary Landfill. <br />The County Attorney was authorized to determine the feasibility of <br />using Revenue Sharing Funds to install larger pipe in the Greenwood Water Assoc- <br />iation's lines. <br />There being no further business to come before the meeting, it was <br />
