® Max 8 PA®223 <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Rogers, seconded by <br />Commissioner Wicker and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED to re- <br />appoint to the Sanford City Board of Adjustment, Mr. Jack Hall and Mr. W. C. <br />Wilson. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker, duly <br />seconded, it was unanimously RESOLVED to appoint Mr. T. Burke Buchanan <br />to the Lee County Board of Social Services. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Hal Hancock, duly seconded <br />by Commissioner W. H. Cooper, it was unanimously RESOLVED to appoint <br />Mr. Worth Pickard, Mr. Watson Kelly and Mr. J. Eugene Rogers to the Lee <br />County Recreation Commission. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker, duly <br />seconded, it was unanimously RESOLVED to appoint Mr. Mike Womble and <br />Mr. W. M. Womble, to the Lee County Personnel Board. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Hal Hancock, duly seconded <br />by Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker, it was unanimously RESOLVED to appoint <br />Mr. James Bridges to the Board of Trustees of the Central Carolina Technical <br />Institute. <br />The Chairman announced that the time for opening of bids for <br />the paving of the parking area of the Lee County Courthouse, had arrived. The <br />Board proceeded to open the bids and the bids were as follows: <br />Riley Paving Company . . . $ 5,200. 00 <br />N. C. Beal & Sons . . . $ 5,050. 00 <br />Lee Paving Company . . . $ 4, 626.35 <br />After discussion, it was RESOLVED to award the bid to Lee <br />Paving Company at the price of $4,626. 35, upon motion of Commissioner Cooper, <br />seconded by Commissioner Rogers, which motion was unanimously adopted. The <br />Board directed that the funds for this project be taken from the monies derived <br />from Revenue Sharing. <br />The Board next discussed the Landfill operations and the open <br />house which was conducted on the site. <br />The Chairman announced the time for opening of bids for a <br />speaker system for the Commissioners' Room, had arrived. Only one bid was <br />received and it was as follows: <br />Southeastern Sight and Sound <br />Corporation $ 4, 084.00 <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Cooper, seconded by Commissione <br />Hancock, it was unanimously RESOLVED to purchase the speaker system from <br />Southeastern Sight and Sound Corporation at the price of $4, 084. 00 and it was <br />directed for the funds for said purchase be taken from Revenue Sharing money. <br />The Board next discussed the request of the Lee County <br />Library for the purchase of land on Hawkins Avenue, but no formal action was <br />taken. <br />The Board next discussed the request of the Lee County <br />Hospital for the purchase of lands belonging to Mr. Roy Jernigan and Mr. George <br />Casey on Hillcrest Drive.
