Eugene Rogers joined the meeting <br />and participated in the further deliberations of the Board. <br />There was a discussion about comprehensive Health <br />Planning and the possibility of the County affiliating with such <br />a program, but no formal action was taken. <br />The Chairman reminded the Board of the annual convention <br />of the Association of County Commissioners, and the Finance <br />Officer was authorized to reserve a suite for the use of the <br />members of the Board at the convention to be held at the Carolina <br />Hotel in Pinehurst. <br />The Chairman reported that a request had been made by <br />the mental health authorities for a loan of $10,000 from the <br />General Fund which loan would be repaid in the month of July, <br />1973. A motion of Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker duly seconded <br />by Commissioner J. Eugene Rogers was unanimously resolved to <br />advance to the Mental Health Fund the sum of $10,000 from the <br />unappropriated surplus in the General Fund which funds are to <br />be repaid in July, 1973. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved that the sum.of <br />$2,387 be appropriated from the Revenue Sharing Funds to the Land <br />Fill Fund for the purpose of the purchase of additional containers <br />to be placed in the county for collection purposes. Commissioner <br />J. Eugene Rogers seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote <br />Messrs. Cooper, Hancock, Rogers, Franklin D. Wicker, and Gordon <br />A. Wicker all voted for it and no one voted against it. <br />There was a discussion about requests which have been <br />received for the purchase of refuse containers by private <br />businesses. The Land Fill Committee composed of Mr. Hancock and <br />Mr. Franklin D. Wicker was to confer with the County Attorney <br />and was to draft a statement of policy for consideration to be <br />submitted to the whole. Board for its consideration. <br />Page 2 <br />
