n <br />BOON 8 pACE239 <br />0 <br />The Board next proceeded to open the bids for <br />maintenance of the County Business Machines. The basic bids <br />were found to be as follows: <br />(1) Sanford Business Machines, Inc., $2,177.10; and <br />the additional amount of $463.50 for the Monroe <br />Machine. <br />(2) Mac's Typewriter Service, Inc., $1,992.15; and <br />$191.96 for the Monroe Machine. <br />The low bid of Mac's Typewriter Service, Inc., in the amount of <br />$2,184.11 together with the alternates for the additional <br />machine in the library and the maintenance of the Copier for a <br />total of $2,250.62 was accepted by the Board. The motion to <br />accept the low bid was made by Commissioner William H. Cooper, <br />seconded by J. Eugene Rogers and upon a roll call vote Messrs. <br />Cooper, Hancock, Rogers, Franklin D. Wicker, and Gordon A. <br />Wicker all voted for it and no one voted against it. <br />The regular report of the Tax Collector was presented <br />to the Board and distributed to the members. <br />Mr. Fenn Boney and Robert Newcomb of the firm of Boney <br />and Newcomb, Engineers, appeared before the Board with Mr. Hal <br />Siler from the Sanford Chamber of Commerce. After reviewing <br />the plans for the water and sewer lines near the industrial <br />site of Redman Industries, it was decided to run a line up Cox <br />Mill Road towards 421 and also to run a line along the property <br />line between Redman Industries and Dunning Properties, Inc., and <br />that both lines should be placed at such a depth that future <br />extensions could be added on. Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker <br />moved that Boney and Newcomb be authorized to complete the plans <br />in accordance with the directions given by the Board of Com- <br />missioners and that they take steps to secure the necessary <br />encroachment agreements with the State Highway Commission and <br />that the Chairman be authorized and directed to execute all <br />Page 3 <br />
