H <br />BOOK O Pw M <br />2 <br />Commissioner Rogers moved that the Board go on <br />record as recommending to the North Carolina Association of <br />County Commissioners that counties not levy the Schedule B <br />licensed taxes and that such authorization be deleted by the <br />General Assembly. Commissioner Hancock seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Cooper requested and was granted <br />authority to prepare specifications for consideration by the <br />Board in purchasing another ambulance for use by the Ambulance <br />Service. <br />Commissioner Rogers reported on the contemplated <br />work at the Courthouse Annex and was authorized to proceed and <br />present his recommendations to the Board for their consideration <br />at a later date. <br />Commissioner Cooper moved that the sum of $1,844.80 <br />and the sum of $2,351.79 be appropriated from the Revenue <br />Sharing Funds and allocated as follows: $1,844.80 to the <br />Maintenance Shop Building and $2,351 for the Burroughs Machine <br />Acquisition for use in the county offices. Commissioner Rogers <br />seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote Messrs. Cooper, <br />Hancock, Rogers, F. Wicker, and G. Wicker all voted for it <br />and no one voted against it. <br />The Chairman then asked the Board what its pleasure <br />was with respect to the recommendation of the County Tax <br />Supervisor that an Assistant Tax Supervisor be employed. <br />Commissioner William H. Cooper moved that Mr. Robert Lea be <br />employed in the position of Assistant Tax Supervisor. <br />Commissioner Hancock seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved that the Board <br />adopt a resolution recommending the election of Richard Conder <br />to the position of Fourth Vice-President by the National <br />
