t n • <br />\ k <br />2L y gA~1 r!~ R{{iF. ~ <br />WHEREAS, after careful consideration of the, <br />services rendered by said road and the traffic <br />demands of said county.,, it is deemed necessary <br />that said road be improved in order to better <br />serve the.interests of the people of this county. <br />NOW, THEREFORE,.-,be it res6,lved, and the <br />Board of County Commissioners hereby approved and <br />request that the State Highway Commission make <br />the following improvements in the above described <br />road: paved. <br />Commissioner J. Eugene Rogers seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Hal Hancock reported that the road <br />known as the'George Core Road'or Hunter Road or Juniper Springs <br />Road was in bad need of work and he would favor seeing this <br />stretch of road paved if funds were available. <br />Commissioner:Franklin":D. Wicker joined,the meeting <br />and gave a report on the opening of the Sanford Tobacco Market. <br />The Board reviewed with the County Finance Officer <br />the proposed usenrevenue sharing funds and authorized the <br />submission of a report to this effect. ' <br />The Chairman announced it was 10:00 o'clock A.M. and <br />the time for receipt.of•bids•for the heating and air-conditioning <br />'renovations on the fifth (5th).floor of the County Office <br />Building had elapsed.' The Chairman proceeded to open the bids <br />received which were as follows:. <br />Coggin Heating'&`Air-.Conditioning, Inc. $3,761.00 <br />King Roofing & Manufacturing Corporation $3,702.00 <br />The Board reviewed the bids and after consideration and <br />discussion, Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved that the low <br />bid of King Roofing &'Manufacturing Corporation in the amount <br />of $3.,702.00 be accepted and that funds in that amount derived <br />from Revenue Sharing be appropriatI6d4'for the purpose"of paying <br />for such renovations. Commissioner Hal L. Hancock seconded the <br />motion and upon a roll call vote,,,, it,:was unanimously approved <br />as follows: Messrs. Cooper, HancockRogers, Franklin Wicker, <br />p♦ <br />and Gordon Wicker all voted for it and no one voted against it. <br />-2- <br />
